One of the best ways to escape is to retreat to an air-conditioned lair and make wild, beautiful love<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The past couple weeks have seen riots in London, escalated war in Afghanistan and Iraq, escalated violence in Syria. Here in the U.S. the Congress could hardly get itself to its summer vacation for inability to agree on matters of state and economy.<\/p>\n

Yet we smile every time we get your notes and letters and know that despite everything there is love here<\/strong>, there is love in the world, and making love is one retreat into pure pleasure<\/strong>. Worthwhile pleasure, too.<\/p>\n

On Sunday we walked along a path beside a beautiful lake, just the two of us, and it was like when we first fell in love<\/a>. Both of us smiling, talking.<\/p>\n
