The past week suddenly found us in a convergence of butches<\/strong> that was utterly fun and, for Christi, utterly glorious.<\/p>\n

An e-mail came through saying, \u201cButch Sightings (@butchsightings) is now following you on Twitter.\u201d Logging in to Twitter @FataleMedia<\/a>, we returned the follow and proceeded to butchsightings.com<\/a>. Whoa! Nice blog.<\/p>\n

Started as an \u201csocial interactive art project\u201d and written by a \u201cfat queer sort-of Jewish white femme from the West Coast,\u201d Butch Sightings<\/a> was inspired by \u201cbutches & studs<\/strong> (females and\/or women who appear masculine, queer, old school, dyke, bulldagger, aggressive [AG] and other terms to be added.\u201d<\/p>\n

The photos are great, and we hope one day this photographin\u2019 femme<\/strong> comes to take a picture of Nan!<\/p>\n

\"Nan<\/a>Here\u2019s a picture from last Saturday of Nan on the Big Vibe<\/a>\u2014with Big Vibe owner Kim Airs of Grand Opening<\/a>\u00a0playing the instigator. After this we headed to the beach, Paradise Cove in Malibu…heaven in springtime.<\/p>\n

\"When<\/a>Saturday evening found us at the beautiful home of Jeanne Cordova<\/a>\u00a0and Lynn H. Ballen in Los Angeles. It had been many years since Christi had seen them, and the first time Nan had met them. Jeanne is the author of the critically acclaimed When We Were Outlaws<\/em> (Spinsters Ink, 2011), which we quite enjoyed. Here are some reviews of the book at Jeanne\u2019s blog, This Lesbian Life<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It was a lovely weekend in Los Angeles. Next time we\u2019ll plan a visit to Oakland to visit another exquisite butch, our friend Jackie Strano<\/a>.<\/p>\n
