Let’s Pretend to Be Lesbians

Rather shocking ad, a double-page spread, in the latest Martha Stewart Living appears to advertise the Jones New York clothing line available at Macy’s. Huh?

Why are these two straight girls holding hands and looking as if they’ve just eaten forbidden fruit?

    Not to mention, Jones New York is one of the worst ranked (at least by HRC) places for LGBT folks to work.

    I may be missing something but I don’t see anything unusual about women holding hands, either lesbian straight,bi, bi curious or transgender. The ad depicts a clothing style. If I like the look i’ll go shop. Please explain the objection to this ad.

    I think the only reason they’re holding hands is to supposedly titillate the viewer with the notion they *might* be lesbians. They *might* just have had sex. Like that. IMHO.
