We have been traveling a lot this last month, short trips here and there, family and work and fun, oh my!

Valentine’s Day lets us take a breath, remember why we love each other, remember why taking a night off from the usual routine adds much-needed zest into the depths of winter.

Single? We say, treat yourself. Go out with a friend and leave your devices in your pockets or purses. Buy yourself a box of chocolate and eat it. Treat yourself to dinner and a movie…the sexier the movie, the better!

Raise a Toast!

We hope your holidays have been fabulous. We are celebrating this New Year’s on the road, traveling in Arizona, of all places, where the temperatures are mild and the scenery wild.

Because we’re driving, we’ve packed up our own Champagne and are celebrating the New Year as a romantic getaway…with some obligations thrown in, but romantic nonetheless. We even brought our own Champagne flutes! Pink, in case you were wondering.

In Memoriam

We remember two people who died this past week.

Margaret Whiting, whose voice was honey to our ears, made us long for evenings in Vermont. We’ll always have her in our music collection. We honor her here.

You may not know artist Kieran McGonnell.

He was our friend. An Irishman from Ireland, he moved to New York where he met his lover of many, many years, Gregg Driben. Together they really worked to get Kieran’s paintings out there. Kieran died last Tuesday.

Sex on the Beach: Postcard from Florida

During a visit to Florida recently, Christi watched one evening as couples gathered on the beach near sundown, some of them under cabanas but mostly just sprawled on towels, lying face-up to watch the evening sky darken.

A long line of airplanes, lit like planets in themselves, were aligned across the eastern sky, each of them headed toward Miami. Behind the beach runs the Hollywood (Florida) boardwalk where couples strolled hand in hand and restaurants filled with hungry diners.

It was after Labor Day and before “winter,” as the locals call it here—that time when northerners descend on the state and locals “can’t get a place to park.”

It was steamy and sexy all at once. Those couples lying on the beach, couples holding hands on the boardwalk, all lost in private reverie.
